As Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Dan Gusty is a member of Lazear’s leadership team, helping shape the firm’s strategic growth initiatives and national market expansion. He leads market strategy and business development efforts, partnering closely with Lazear’s Market Leaders to strengthen strategic relationships, expand the firm’s presence in key markets, and create new opportunities to serve business owners and their advisors.

Dan brings more than 20 years of experience advising entrepreneurs, family-owned businesses, and high-net-worth individuals on complex financial and ownership transition strategies. Prior to joining Lazear, he served as Managing Director of the Central Ohio Market and a shareholder at Johnson Investment Counsel, where he led the firm’s mergers and acquisitions strategy for business owners while integrating investment management, tax optimization, estate planning, and exit planning into comprehensive ownership transition plans.

Earlier in his career, Dan served as Vice President and Senior Wealth Strategist with Hawthorn, PNC Family Wealth, advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families on wealth management, tax and estate planning, legacy planning, family education, and strategic philanthropy.

Dan earned both his Master of Accounting and Bachelor of Science in Finance from The Ohio State University. He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) professional, a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®), and holds an inactive Certified Public Accountant license (CPA Inactive).

In addition to his professional work, Dan serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.
