Gary brings more than a decade of experience in M&A tax advisory and legal consulting to his work helping business owners navigate complex ownership transitions. At Lazear, he focuses on tax strategy and structuring for ESOP and M&A transactions, drawing on a career that spans both Big Four consulting and Am Law 200 law practice. Before joining the firm, Gary was a Director in PwC’s Mergers & Acquisitions Tax group, advising clients on deal structuring and tax implications across a broad range of industries. He also practiced as an associate attorney at Porter Wright, adding legal depth to his financial acumen. Gary began his career at PwC in Chicago, and has spent his entire career advising clients in the M&A space.

He holds an LL.M. in Taxation from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, a J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, and a B.S. in Finance from Miami University.
