Josh is a Managing Director with Lazear, leading the firm’s presence in Charlotte and across the Carolinas while extending his expertise to business owners nationwide. He brings more than two decades of experience in middle-market banking and capital markets, helping privately held and family-owned companies evaluate strategic options and structure ownership transitions that align with their long-term goals.

Prior to joining Lazear, Josh led the Middle Market Banking group for SouthState Bank in the North Carolina and Virginia markets. Earlier in his career, he worked in the Financial Services Practice at EY in Washington, D.C. and has served the Charlotte market since 2007. His experience advising family shareholders, CEOs, and CFOs across the Southeast uniquely positions him to provide strategic guidance through every stage of a company’s transition.

Josh earned his B.S. in Finance from Miami University. A longtime resident of Charlotte, he is active in the local business community through the Carolinas Association of General Contractors (CAGC), the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), and the Olde Providence Racquet Club.
