Ted is a Partner and heavily involved in ESOP Formations and Capital Raising efforts.

He has helped numerous companies determine the right answer for their succession and liquidity needs whether that was an ESOP or another solution.  If the decision is made to sell the company to an ESOP, he excels at helping sellers understand the process fully – how much they will receive and when; how ESOPs work; the significant tax advantages to the company and seller; what the employees/key employees receive and how management continues to run the company.  Ted is a Certified Exit Planning Advisor and a highly-rated national speaker on ESOPs.

Ted also has more than 25 years of experience in commercial lending, asset-based lending, and private equity and has funded well over $1 Billion of Capital. Whether the need is to fund rapid growth, a stressful financial situation or a sale to an ESOP, Ted has extensive experience helping companies access a wide variety of funding sources.

Prior to joining Lazear Capital, Ted worked in senior roles at LaSalle Bank, Fifth Third, Bank One and GE Capital as well as being a partner with the private equity firm Talisman Capital Partners. He received his MBA from the University of Chicago and his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University. Ted has served on the boards of ACG Columbus, the Columbus Council on World Affairs and the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Development Board.
