Tyler Mains, Director
Tyler Mains is a Director at Lazear Capital, where he provides strategic advice to clients to help them achieve their personal, professional, and philanthropic goals. He has a passion for understanding what makes entrepreneurs tick and successful companies prosper. Tyler has extensive experience valuing and analyzing privately-held companies across a wide variety of industries, geographies, and size and relishes the opportunity to provide advice to private business owners contemplating a transition.
Before joining Lazear Capital, Tyler worked in Asset and Wealth Management within J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank, where he advised private business owners and managed investments in privately-held businesses. Prior to J.P. Morgan, he worked in the Valuation and Financial Opinion Services group of a consulting, tax, and accounting firm, specializing in valuations for the following purposes: Employee Stock Ownership Plans, estate and gift taxation, fairness opinions, mergers and acquisitions, buy-sell agreements, purchase price allocations, goodwill impairment testing, and stock options.
Tyler grew up in Columbus, Ohio and earned his BSBA in Accounting from The Ohio State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of Ohio, Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) through the American Institute of CPAs, and is a Level 3 Candidate in the Chartered Financial Analyst program. Tyler serves in a variety of capacities for the American Cancer Society, as a member of both the Columbus Community Council and Trustee Committee for the American Cancer Society’s Columbus Cattle Baron’s Ball.
